Teaching
Classes & workshops
Deanna teaches Egyptian-style bellydance — Classical Oriental, Baladi and Shaabi — with fusion drawn from Bollywood, Ori Tahiti and West African dance.
Lessons build from the ground up. Rather than teaching steps in isolation, sessions work through technique and posture, musicality, the cultural context behind the movement, and choreography — with confidence and personal expression treated as part of the craft rather than something you arrive already having.
Newcomers and experienced dancers are both genuinely welcome. Every session meets you where you are.

Ways to learn
Group classes
Regular classes in a shared setting, where you build technique alongside other dancers. Newcomers and experienced dancers are both genuinely welcome — sessions meet you where you are.
Private lessons
One-to-one sessions for focused, personalised guidance. Useful if you want to work on something specific, progress at your own pace, or prepare for a performance.
Workshops
Themed sessions for studios, festivals and events — a deeper dive into a particular style, rhythm or repertoire, for groups who want to spend longer with the material.

What you'll work on
- Technique and posture
- The foundations the whole style rests on, built from the ground up rather than assumed.
- Musicality and rhythm
- Hearing the music properly — learning to feel the rhythm and let it shape how you move.
- Cultural context
- Where the movement comes from and what it means, so the dance is understood rather than imitated.
- Choreography
- Putting the pieces together into sequences you can perform and make your own.
- Confidence and expression
- Above all, the part that makes a dancer watchable — presence, and permission to be expressive.
